Aintree Racecourse

The race lasts 10 minutes; the experience lasts a life time.
For a few brief moments each year in April, the world's most famous racecourse runs the world's most famous race, The John Smith's Grand National.
Aintree racecourse is currently enjoying its most successful period in modern times. A new ?35 million redevelopment project will deliver improved facilities for racing and beyond. Phase one of the project, a new Weighing Room, Parade Ring and Winner's Enclosure is now complete. Phase two of the project, the building of two new grandstands, (The Earl of Derby and The Lord Sefton Stands)will be completed in time for the 2007 Grand National meeting in April.
When not staging the world's most famous hourse race, Aintree hosts an additional four racedays a year, and as well as being a successful confernce and events venue, Aintree houses the longest nine-hole golf course in the country nestled within the Grand National course; a true test for any golfer. Visitors eager to sample the magic of Aintree and the Grand National meeting at any other time of year can do so by visiting Aintree's visitor centre, open May - October.
