Avon Heath Country Park

Avon Heath Country Park has nearly 600 acres of heathland with stands of Pine trees, and Birch woodland.
The park is situated 2 miles west of Ringwood on the A31 and is accessible to families and people with a wide range of abilities and interests . The Visitor Centre and gift shop, children's playground, car park, cafe and toilets are all open throughout the year.
The Visitor Centre
Inside you will find maps of the Country Park, activity trails for families, competitions for children, as well as information about local places of interest.
While there is a bustling atmosphere of people around the Visitor Centre and children's play area, tranquility lies only a couple of minutes walk across the heath.
Events
Special events are run at different times through the year. The events include pond dipping, Easter egg trails, bug hunts, den building, orienteering, kite making, T-shirt printing, animal tracks and signs, dawn chorus walks and making bird boxes and bird feeders. They are open to the public, and most are also available to groups wishing to book privately. For details of events held at the Park please click on the link at the bottom of this page.
Trails for All
There are many easy to follow way-marked trails around the park, which vary in length between three quarters and two miles. The trails are popular with walkers and cyclists in all weathers and seasons, and most are easily accessible for pushchairs.
